New chief judge for 10th Judicial District
The Kansas Supreme Court has appointed Judge Thomas Kelly Ryan to a two-year term as chief judge of the 10th Judicial District, for a two-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2018. He succeeds Judge Kevin Moriarty, who has served as chief judge since 2014 and will resume his docket without the additional administrative duties.  

Ryan has served as district judge in the 10th Judicial District since 2008. He presides over a criminal docket in Johnson County.  

Ryan is a native Kansan. He graduated from Creighton University in 1981 with a bachelorís degree in journalism and mass communications and from Washburn University School of Law in 1985.
